The shallowness of the water in the Gulf surprised me. There are some areas that are only 6 inches deep, so it is critical to follow the channel markers out. There is also the danger of getting caught in sea grass. Being newcomers, we were careful on our way out, but these more experienced ? folks zoomed pass us.
